The Boarding House is integral to the School buildings, but very much a ‘house’ area, with newly refurbished dormitories and bathrooms. Downstairs, the boarders enjoy the use of two Common Rooms, the School sports’ facilities and yard, dining room, IT suite and music practice spaces. At the weekend the Boarders participate in a busy round of activities, often taking them out across the north of England.
The Boarding House is run by Mrs Faulkner-Walford, who is assisted by the House Tutors, Mr Sanderson, Mr Lee, Mrs Crinson and Mrs Field. As teachers in the School, they know the children well and are able to carefully balance the demands of prep (homework) with the necessity to have free time and relax. The School has three Housemothers (Matrons) whose rota ensures that the School has 24 hour medical cover.
Boys’ and girls’ accommodation is separated, each with their own access, with sickbay facilities on the top floor.
