It has been another exciting week in Pre-School and Pre-Prep. Pre-School have been enjoying their mini-beast activities. Purple Class had a fabulous visit to Gibside Estate where they had a great time bug hunting, making environmental art, exploring the woods and parkland.
Silver Class had a fantastic time at Souter Lighthouse. They managed to climb to the top of the lighthouse and learned about how the light works, asking some very interesting and clever questions. We also visited the Lighthouse Keeper’s Cottage, learning how families would have lived in the past. The children enjoyed their lunch outdoors and later made their own working lighthouse models. They even managed to fit in a lovely play session on the playground in front of the lighthouse, as well as visiting the wildlife gardens. The children enjoyed a wonderful day and they were a credit to the school
Gold Class spent some time in the Computing Suite programming with an ‘Hour of Code’. They also took part in their first concert as the Junior Training Choir in the Summer Concert in the Cathedral on Thursday. They sang beautifully. We would like to wish everyone a happy and relaxing half term.
