Pre-School have enjoyed learning French with ‘Jean Claude’ and using their fingers to paint hedgehogs.
Reception have been thinking about shapes and patterns. They have hunted around the school for squares, rectangles, circles and hexagons and even found some octagons too! They used shapes to make pictures and painted lots of colourful squares to decorate Elmer the Elephant.
Year 1 have have loved learning their number bonds to 10 in Mathematics and they have enjoyed working practically with cubes to reinforce understanding. The children also carried out a very exciting ‘Fizzy Colours’ experiment in Science, mixing food colouring and vinegar and putting drops of the mixture into bicarbonate of soda to create a very fizzy, colourful mess (which was lots of fun!) The children have been learning their spelling sounds brilliantly and they have enjoyed playing board games and a wide range of activities.
Year 2 have been comparing numbers and problem solving, using fun games to help them learn. They have begun practising for their Harvest Assembly performance and had a successful rehearsal on the College Green in the beautiful sunshine.
Our Year 2 School Councillors and House captains were delighted to receive their badges in Friday’s School Assembly in the Cathedral.
