It’s been a fun filled week in Pre-Prep and Pre-School.
Pre-School have enjoyed their French, Music and PE lessons with the Prep School Teachers.
Reception have been busy collecting apples and made the most delicious apple crumble. The children love being at school next door to the Cathedral, and having their own apple trees outside the front door makes it even better.
Year 1 have made a wonderful start to the term and they are already underway with their topic of ‘Magic’. This week, the children have carried out their first ‘Awe and Wonder’ Science experiment, using food colouring in a paper towel colour mixing experiment and recording what happened. The children loved seeing the colours travel up the paper towel! They have also had a wonderful afternoon in Design & Technology where they designed and made their very own magic wands. They carefully selected craft materials to create their wands and they are very much looking forward to using these in the classroom!
Year 2 had a great afternoon on Wednesday searching inside and outside the school for the uses of everyday materials as part of their Science work. They have also been playing games to help with their investigation of place value.
There were some important elections this week. Our new Year 2 School Councillors and House captains were elected. All the children in Year 2 made some very impressive speeches as to why they would make a great School Councillor or House Captain and should all be very proud of themselves.
