Pre-School have had a brilliant week. They performed in the Harvest Assembly, ‘rode’ a horse and went on an adventure to the Boarding House.
It has been such a fun and busy week in Reception this week that it is difficult to pick out a favourite activity. It might have been making cakes for Kipper’s birthday party, sharing a song in Harvest assembly, or maybe it was welcoming their visitor Mr Done, who helped the children decorate some name stones.
Year 1 love trying different challenges in their ‘Magic Maths’ area. This week, they have tried different practical challenges, such as forming numbers using paint brushes and glitter, playing counting, matching and writing games as well as estimation challenges. The children in Year One also worked together as a team in English to create a frieze for ‘Room on the Broom’. This week, they have been writing about where they thought the witch and the animals would fly off to on their broomsticks.
Year 2 have been problem solving in Mathematics, finding out about John McAdam in Science and exploring the meaning of proverbs in English. They acted and narrated clearly and confidently in their Harvest Assembly performance of ‘Chicken Licken’.
