Winter and Nativity

UncategorizedComments Off on Winter and Nativity

Brr it’s cold outside and Purple Class have been thinking about Winter weather. They have made some beautiful beaded snowflakes. Some of their favourite dinosaurs became trapped in the ice. they thought  hard about how to free them. In the end a bath in salt water did the trick! Their snowman Advent calendar is almost complete. They are looking forward to December!

Silver Class have been very busy this week helping to make props for Silver and Gold’s Nativity Play ‘Prickly Hay’. The shepherds have been very busy with their sheep and our angels are making sure we have a very starry sky!

In Gold Mathematics this week we have been working with money, describing the coins we use, ordering the coins to value, using the symbols for pound and pence and adding amounts of money.  We have thoroughly enjoyed  playing ‘The Coin Collector Board Game’ and ‘Coin Collector Snap’.

We have been learning about the invention of the Eden Project and its massive biomes.  We have begun to make our own Greenhouses with a juice carton, some straws and plastic bags.
